Originally founded as Gerbus Remodeling by Walter Gerbus Sr. over 65 years ago, today the Gerbus family currently operates three companies:

Homes by Gerbus, Inc., Gerbus Remodeling, Inc and Gerbus Properties, Inc. Owned and operated by the sons, Alan, Walt Jr. and Kevin, the companies have continued to expand under their leadership. Walter's daughter Cathy is responsible for the accounting side of the business.

Solid family values and a strong work ethic have guided the company from the beginning. By involving his family, Walter Gerbus, Sr. gave his sons the benefit of both an education in construction and years of experience. He taught them the importance of skilled craftsmanship and strong customer service, the cornerstones of Walter Sr.'s residential remodeling company.

"Building is a partnership between the customer and our company." states Alan Gerbus. "We take care of the technical details, but ultimately, selection and design are the customers' decision. Communication between the builder and customer is the key to making the home building experience a positive and enjoyable one for all involved. This has always been the foundation of Homes by Gerbus."

Our Mission

We strive to build your dream. Our ultimate reward is to see customers become partners, as their dream turns into reality - one house at a time.

“It’s a win-win situation,” says company president Alan Gerbus. “Our clients get money-saving, energy-efficient homes and we help protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Energy Efficient homes can save our owners thousands of dollars over the life of the home on heating and cooling costs.”

What We've Achieved

Cincinnati-area home builder Homes by Gerbus has consistently performed at a very high level in qualifying their homes for the FIVE STAR + HERS Index Rating (Home Energy Rating System Index) as measured by an independent Energy Analysis Rater.

Homes by Gerbus submits every home that they build for the independent, third-party inspection required to earn the HERS Index rating. The home's effective insulation, high-performance windows, tight construction and duct work, and high-efficient heating and cooling equipment qualified their homes as at least 50% more energy efficient on heating and cooling than required by the 2004 International Residential Code.
